I am a small one person blacksmith operating out of the shop at my home in central NY. I started metalworking as a teenager, mostly fixing farm equipment on the home farm in SD where I grew up. Then, at college, I was introduced to a farrier, who I apprenticed for and learned the craft of horseshoeing. I have been shoeing horses full time since 2002 and my blacksmithing has only grown through the years. Like the blacksmiths of old, I particularly like using scrap steel that would otherwise be considered trash and transforming it into something new and useful. Much of what you see on my gallery are made from old sawmill blades, tractor seats, chainsaw chains, shipping crates etc. Most of my work is custom, and made to order, but I get the most joy out of making hammers, tongs and other blacksmith tools. If you see anything here that you like or have another idea of a project, contact me for order information and pricing.
